Today's error is from one of my students from Brazil. As you might know, I teach English online. So far, all my students from Japan or Brazil
I've never been to Brazil, so it is quite interesting to have students from there - I learn something about the country. And I'm learning a little about the Portugisische - because the mistakes of the people often be because they say it in English so as one would say in their native language.
One of the things my students said, was normal . He used it when I asked him things like: How was your weekend ? or was it like working today?
He said hmm, normal . And then I told him that it was funny in English, if it normal answered and instead could be alright ok or or the same as usual (such as always respond).
And then he told me that he made the mistake probably because it so I would say in Portuguese.
And I thought, "oh, that's interesting" because it is similar to Japanese.
normal in Japanese is Futsu - and you can use the word, to answer questions in order ok or express in order .
